1. Overview

Only Swatch ("the App", "we", "us") is a Shopify application developed and operated by Swonie. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use Only Swatch.

By installing or using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

2. Data We Collect

Only Swatch collects the minimum data required to operate:

  • Shop domain — your Shopify store's domain (e.g. your-store.myshopify.com), used to identify your account and store your swatch configuration.
  • Swatch settings — the visual configuration you set in the app (swatch type, colors, sizes, mappings). Stored in our database and synced to a shop metafield on your Shopify store.
  • OAuth session token — a Shopify-issued access token that allows the app to read your product variants and write metafields. This token is stored securely in our database and never shared.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect or store:

  • Customer names, email addresses, or any personal information about your shoppers
  • Order data, purchase history, or transaction details
  • Payment information of any kind
  • Analytics, tracking pixels, or behavioral data
  • Any data beyond what is strictly necessary to display swatches

4. How We Use Your Data

Data collected is used exclusively to:

  • Authenticate your Shopify store and maintain your session
  • Store and apply your swatch visual settings
  • Sync your settings to a shop metafield so the Theme App Extension can render swatches on your storefront
  • Respond to support requests you initiate via the in-app support form

We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose outside the App's core functionality.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your settings are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on a secure, private server. Access is restricted to authenticated app requests only. All communication between the App and Shopify's API is conducted over HTTPS.

We retain your data for as long as the App is installed on your store. When you uninstall the App, all your shop data (settings and session tokens) is automatically and permanently deleted from our database within seconds via Shopify's uninstall webhook.

6. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

  • Shopify — authentication, product data access, and metafield storage. Governed by Shopify's Privacy Policy.
  • Resend — used only to deliver support emails you send via the in-app support form. Only the content you submit is transmitted; no data is stored by Resend beyond email delivery logs.

7. GDPR & Data Subject Rights

If you or your customers are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of data we hold about your shop
  • Erasure — request deletion of your shop data (also happens automatically on uninstall)
  • Portability — request your swatch settings in a machine-readable format

Only Swatch does not store any customer personal data (PII). All GDPR compliance webhooks required by Shopify are implemented and active.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for use by Shopify merchants and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
